Post-walk delights at The Gog Farm Shop and Cafe

After a glorious romp up Gog Magog Down, with little ones grabbing fistfuls of cowslips and buttercups, it was time for a hot cuppa and something delicious. Without hesitation we made a beeline for The Gog, the most wonderful farm shop and cafe nestled in the beautiful Gog Magog hills. It’s a post-walk delight; a relaxed place to enjoy delicious, fresh and seasonal food.

Set up for rain or shine, there are calm, cosy spots in the barn-style cafe, bright sunny table benches (with wam rugs provided whenever a slight nip chills the air), plus the undercover ‘Shack’ out back. Festooned with string lights and brightly coloured lanterns, it’s a great indoor/outdoor spot when you have energetic kids with muddy boots to feed.

We always find it impossible to choose from the menu and end up over-ordering. Warm Scotch eggs, enormous scones, and an array of cakes (many of which are gluten free) are always highly tempting. As is the well-stocked deli and farm shop. We never leave without doggy bags for the journey home.

Also be sure to keep an eye on their brilliant calendar of events which features sundowner sessions, supper clubs and cookery classes.
